About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage claims in strict accordance with state-specific insurance regulations and K2 Claims' Best Practices
  • Manage first- and third-party auto property damage and third-party liability claims, including lower exposure general liability claims
  • Manage claims from assignment through resolution
  • Assign and direct appraisers, review estimates and supplements, evaluate total losses, and resolve loss of use and rental claims
  • Oversee lower exposure litigated cases, including referring cases to counsel, establishing litigation plans and budgets, and providing settlement authority
  • Analyze policy coverage and draft reservation of rights and/or coverage declination letters
  • Prepare reports for senior management and clients regarding claim status, recommended reserves, and strategic plans of action
  • Negotiate settlements within assigned authority
  • Analyze risk transfer options and determine insurance priority
  • Identify and refer appropriate claims to subrogation or the Special Investigation Unit (SIU)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of commercial and/or personal lines liability experience is ideal
  • 1 year of general liability experience preferred but not required
  • Previous experience in a TPA or insurance carrier environment handling diverse programs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all required state adjuster licenses
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a dedicated focus on customer service
  • Must be flexible for occasional business travel for training, mediations, and/or trials
