About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in a paid six-week Summer Internship Programme, four days per week from Monday to Thursday
- Attend group induction in London during the early part of the first week
- Receive introductory tax training
- Work alongside experienced tax professionals on real client assignments
- Assist in preparing tax technical reports
- Research points of tax law
- Draft client correspondence
- Sit in on client meetings
- Work toward objectives established with a buddy
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation toward the end of the internship
- Participate in shared learning modules on professional skills, networking and wellbeing
- Attend the programme wrap-up in London during the final few days
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be in the penultimate year of your degree and expect to achieve at least a 2:1
- At least three A Levels at grades A–C, or the Scottish Advanced Higher/Higher equivalent
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at grades 9–6, or Scottish National 5 equivalent at grades A or B
- Confidence working with numbers and strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to understand and communicate complex information clearly
- Curiosity and willingness to ask questions
- Motivation to investigate problems and find answers
- Strong sense of pride in the quality of your work
- Genuine desire to help clients and their businesses succeed
- No prior tax study required
- Graduate Programme pathway is subject to achieving a 2:1 degree
