About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take end-to-end ownership of month-end, quarter-end and annual close for the Polish entity
- Own P&L and balance sheet review, including fluctuation analysis, reconciliations and follow-up
- Prepare and file statutory financial statements under the Polish Accounting Act and maintain the bridge to IFRS group reporting
- Own Polish tax and VAT compliance, including CIT, VAT-UE, JPK_V7, KSeF administration and withholding tax
- Lead statutory, tax and VAT audits from start to finish
- Lead transition of accounting from the external provider to the Finance Centre of Excellence
- Review transfer pricing documentation and support intercompany settlements
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations and prepare country-specific reconciliations
- Own the fixed asset register and payment approvals
- Oversee payroll-related settlements and act as local finance contact for HR payroll topics
- Own statutory and statistical reporting to KRS, CRBR, GUS and NBP
- Strengthen internal controls, financial governance and risk mitigation
- Partner with Business Controllers, Financial Control Leads and international finance stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related field
- 6+ years of experience in financial control or accounting, including full ownership of statutory reporting for Polish legal entities
- Strong hands-on expertise in Polish tax and VAT
- Proven experience leading statutory audits end to end
- Strong knowledge of the Polish Accounting Act, statutory reporting and Polish tax legislation
- Practical experience with KSeF and awareness of upcoming JPK_CIT requirements
- Solid understanding of IFRS and confidence navigating complex accounting topics independently
- Experience with accounting insourcing, outsourcing or ERP migration is a strong advantage
- Good understanding of Record to Report, Order to Cash and Purchase to Pay
- Experience with integrated ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of internal controls, risk mitigation and statutory compliance
- Fluent Polish and English, written and spoken
- Polish accounting certification or ACCA is an advantage
- Experience working with a Shared Service Centre or Centre of Excellence is a plus
- Experience from FMCG, consumer healthcare, retail or another fast-paced international environment is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
