About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and implement custom SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5 and OData services
Develop and modify standard and custom CDS views for reporting and analytical requirements
Design and develop custom ABAP code including Function Modules, User Exits, BAPIs, BADIs, and ABAP Logic Extensions
Modify copies of standard SAP objects and enhancement points while maintaining system integrity and SAP best practices
Participate in daily development hand-off meetings with the offshore India development team
Take over development responsibilities during Americas time zones and hand off completed work to the India team to enable 24-hour development cycles
Ensure custom developments follow SAP coding standards and company guidelines
Conduct code reviews and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
Perform unit testing and integration testing, and support user acceptance testing
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Stay current with SAP Fiori and S/4HANA development trends
Recommend solutions to improve development processes and system performance
Serve as a bridge between the India development team and Americas-based operations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related technical field
Relevant SAP certifications in ABAP or Fiori development are highly preferred
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in SAP Fiori custom application development and implementation
Minimum 6 years of extensive experience in SAP ABAP programming and custom code development
Proven expertise in CDS view development, including modification of standard views and creation of custom views
Deep experience with ABAP enhancement techniques including User Exits, Customer Exits, BAPIs, BADIs, and Business Transaction Events
Strong background in the SAP development lifecycle from requirements gathering through deployment and support
Experience working with distributed or offshore development teams across multiple time zones preferred
Experience with SAP S/4HANA development and migration projects preferred
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile development practices preferred
Expert-level proficiency in SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 framework
Advanced ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP)
Strong expertise in CDS views, AMDP, and database optimization
In-depth knowledge of SAP enhancement framework and modification techniques
Proficiency with SAP Gateway and OData service development
Experience with SAP Web IDE, Eclipse ADT, or SAP Business Application Studio
Knowledge of SAP integration technologies and APIs
Understanding of SAP security concepts and authorization objects
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to collaborate effectively in distributed team environments
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a remote work environment
Flexibility to adjust work schedule for hand-off meetings
