About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and monitor robust, scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Rundeck/Airflow
  • Design performant data models and optimize complex SQL queries for high-scale environments
  • Build automated checks and alerts to catch errors early and maintain accurate financial and operational reports
  • Automate repetitive tasks and build self-service tools to improve data access across teams
  • Experiment with and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and enhance code quality
  • Translate business questions into practical, maintainable technical solutions with partners across the company
  • Build and operate the data backbone serving as the organization’s single source of truth
  • Support billing and company-wide reporting and analytics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of proven experience in data engineering or analytics engineering within a related data-centric environment
  • Experience owning end-to-end data pipelines (ingest → transform → test → monitor)
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Familiarity with distributed/columnar/OLAP systems such as Redshift, Trino, or Vertica
  • Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL or Postgres
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Software-engineering approach to building testable, maintainable code
  • Experience with workflow orchestration and containerization such as Airflow or Docker
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for investigating data issues
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Nice-to-have: stream processing or real-time systems such as Kafka or Flink
  • Nice-to-have: modern BI tooling such as Looker or Superset
  • Nice-to-have: CI/CD and deployment automation such as GitHub Actions
  • Nice-to-have: web frameworks for internal tools such as Django or Flask
  • Ability to work from the required Berlin office at least 3 days per week
