About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate subcontractor work on construction sites
  • Ensure construction schedules are met and projects meet required quality and workmanship standards
  • Manage and coordinate mechanical construction projects from conception to completion
  • Order materials and equipment, issue subcontracts, develop billings, and manage RFIs and change orders
  • Prepare and review submittals and keep project team members informed
  • Maintain knowledge of project contract and subcontract conditions, scope, and specifications
  • Proactively prevent problems and resolve emerging issues
  • Establish project cost control centers for equipment, materials, labor, subcontracts, and miscellaneous costs
  • Manage large jobs with minimal supervision
  • Procure and manage subcontractors and equipment vendors
  • Inspect jobsites for contract compliance, workmanship, and safety
  • Complete projects on time and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with customers, building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff
  • Maintain client relationships and project profitability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management or equivalent required
  • Proven working experience in Construction Management or related field
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems of all types
  • Knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages and strong computer skills
  • Strong time and project management skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus and will be required upon hiring
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a construction environment with overhead reach and use step ladders, extension ladders, power tools, and hand tools
  • Ability to work outside normal work hours and weekends as required
  • Ability to travel domestically
  • 40%+ travel required
