About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate subcontractor work on site
  • Manage and coordinate mechanical construction projects from conception to completion
  • Order materials and equipment
  • Issue subcontracts and develop billings
  • Complete and manage RFIs, change orders, and submittals
  • Ensure project team members are fully informed
  • Maintain working knowledge of project general conditions, scope, specifications, and contracts/subcontracts
  • Prevent problems and resolve emerging issues
  • Establish project cost-control centers for equipment, materials, labor, subcontracts, and miscellaneous costs
  • Manage large jobs with minimal supervision
  • Procure and manage project subcontractors and equipment vendors
  • Inspect jobsites for contract compliance, workmanship, and safety
  • Ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction
  • Communicate with customers, representatives, building owners, subcontractors, and field support staff
  • Travel domestically as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management or equivalent required
  • Proven working experience in Construction Management or related field
  • B.S. in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field is a plus
  • Knowledge of HVAC and piping systems, building products, construction details/design, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages and strong computer skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and manage changing priorities
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus and will be required upon hiring
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a construction environment with overhead reach and use step ladders, extension ladders, power tools, and hand tools
  • Ability to travel domestically 40% or more
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours and weekends as required
