About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive analysis, design and continual improvement of finning across global manufacturing operations
  • Serve as the global subject-matter expert for finning technologies and provide technical leadership
  • Support new product introductions and new source introductions through DFM, process readiness, tooling, standard work, control plans and equipment/process capability
  • Partner with design engineering on fin geometry, materials and assembly/process choices
  • Conduct process audits, gap analyses and best-practice benchmarking across sites and suppliers
  • Drive harmonisation of fin-manufacturing methods, tooling, materials and inspection
  • Lead finning cost-reduction and productivity improvement projects
  • Apply advanced manufacturing engineering tools, including finite-element analysis, process simulation, process capability studies and FMEA
  • Investigate fin-related defects, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Provide global training, documentation, SOPs and maintain a finning manufacturing engineering playbook
  • Support supplier development and integrate suppliers into the global manufacturing network
  • Travel globally 50% plus to manufacturing plants and key suppliers
  • Report key metrics including cost per fin unit, scrap percentage, cycle time and operating efficiency
  • Drive MES integration of finning equipment, including machine data collection, plant data collection and advanced planning
  • Report to the Head of Global Manufacturing Engineering and work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, R&D, Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Sustainability and Plant Manufacturing Engineering Leads

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with strong focus on sheet-metal, heat-exchanger fins or finned-tube technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of fin manufacturing processes, including fin forming, fin bonding/assembly, fin material metallurgy, fin inspection and testing methods
  • Proven experience in new product introduction (NPI) and design for manufacturability (DFM) in a global manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong project management skills, including leading cross-functional global teams and managing timelines, budgets and deliverables
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis, FMEA, control plans and process capability metrics (Cp, Cpk)
  • Experience working with suppliers globally and driving supplier development and cost/performance improvements
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders across geographies
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Preferred: Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt
  • Preferred: experience with manufacturing digital tools, process simulation, digital twin, data analytics, and sustainability/energy-efficiency drivers related to finned products
