About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support and maintain CNC Grinders, Presses, Sintering furnaces, Wet and Dry media blasters, CVD Furnaces, PVD Furnaces, and the facility
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Conduct daily preventative maintenance (PMs)
- Work alongside plant personnel and independently
- Gather and analyze information, apply learned skills and critical reasoning, and solve moderate to complex problems
- Participate in plant spill response and emergency SCBA response activities
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance technician
- Training from a certification program, vocational, or technical school pertaining to the listed skill sets
- Experience with CNC-driven systems, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Understanding of PLCs / Ladder Logic
- Experience with 3-phase and single-phase motor control
- Ability to fluently read and comprehend schematics
- Conduit and panel wiring installation
- Understanding of NEC code and NFPA 70E
- Mechanical drawing reading and comprehension
- Knowledge of power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems and schematics
- Pipe fitting, welding, soldering, and threading
- Arc, MIG, and TIG welding
- Plasma cutting, metal shaping, and bending
- Willingness and ability to participate in the Kennametal Spill Response program
- Must pass a Respirator Medical Evaluation
- Required to participate on the Plant Emergency SCBA Response Team
- Ability to frequently walk, climb ladders, stand 8–12 hours per day, reach, bend, and lift up to 33 pounds
- Safety glasses with side-shields, safety shoes, and cut-resistant gloves when necessary
