About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support metal-cutting manufacturing operations to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and EHS objectives
  • Identify process improvement opportunities through new equipment and systems, programming techniques, and process evaluation
  • Support steel cutting tool manufacturing across CNC milling, CNC turning, CNC grinding, induction brazing, EDM, heat treatment, surface treatment, additive manufacturing, equipment, processes, and facilities
  • Determine manufacturing processes, create routings and bills of materials, procure tooling, and design work holding and gauges
  • Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality Assurance, CNC Programming, and Manufacturing on preproduction processes and lead times
  • Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements
  • Provide manufacturing support for quality, productivity, issues, problems, and capital purchases
  • Supervise and direct the maintenance team, coordinate maintenance activities, and manage the maintenance budget
  • Coordinate with machine manufacturers and third-party services to address machine issues
  • Develop project plans, budgets, team selection, and activity assignments; conduct reviews, corrective actions, EHS compliance, and progress reporting
  • Prepare metrics, progress, status, and responsibility-area reports
  • Develop and transition new processes to manufacturing
  • Analyze business objectives and develop recommendations
  • Develop, improve, and standardize manufacturing processes, including work instructions, procedures, and control plans

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required
  • Experience in metal-cutting and CNC preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and CAD/CAM software; NX preferred
  • Effective communication with shopfloor employees and cross functional departments to coordinate production activities
  • 5 years of experience in engineering industries preferred
  • Knowledge of carbide tool manufacturing process
  • Knowledge of production planning and scheduling
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Legally authorized to work in the US and not require sponsorship now or in the future
