About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Fulfill orders through order entry, administration, and shipping via computer or system
- Prepare orders for shipment by verifying identifying information and quantities
- Assemble boxes and pack items, or assemble wooden crates for large merchandise
- Enclose correct paperwork with shipments
- Cover receiving duties by receiving shipments, checking items, delivering them to the correct person or department, and maintaining storage of received material
- Perform SAP and KIS shipping transactions
- Process shipments through an online logistics broker
- Perform cycle counts
- Process international shipments and occasionally prepare manual customs documents
- Notify the supervisor of partial shipments and other discrepancies
- Handle return shipments
- Follow shipping/receiving documentation and control plans
- Meet daily departmental production goals
- Communicate safety, quality, and product issues with supervisors, team members, and across shifts
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school graduate or GED
- Excellent analytical and math skills
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of packaging procedures
- Ability to use power tools to build/modify shipping containers
- Experience with Bills of Lading and other shipping documents would be beneficial
- Ability to work with heavy parts
- Ability to climb on/off forklift
- Ability to stand continuously and for extended periods
- Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift/carry up to 33 lbs
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and handling tools
- Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and cut-resistant gloves
- Forklift experience preferred
- Must be reliable and dependable
- Commitment to working safely and understanding all safety procedures
- Ability to work occasional overtime
