About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Originate, structure, and distribute Public Finance solutions to Affordable Housing borrowers
  • Network inside and outside the company to broaden business knowledge and effectiveness
  • Participate in industry-related associations and establish a financial-community network
  • Act as primary banker and advisor for major clients
  • Lead client meetings, including negotiations on financing pricing or structure
  • Draw on company resources to expand client relationships and deliver value
  • Monitor emerging client trends and understand client strategies and market opportunities
  • Modify proposals and plans in response to client concerns and suggestions
  • Develop and maintain important client relationships and generate revenue
  • Demonstrate the organization's value in clients' financial strategies and measures
  • Coordinate product, sales, and service units to deliver client value
  • Contribute to client profitability
  • Partner with Public Sector and Fixed Income peers to provide high-quality client solutions and service
  • Provide technical and developmental support to junior team members
  • Assemble balanced, diverse teams to provide high-quality solutions and service
  • Analyze problems, identify constraints, implement solutions, resolve crises, and follow up on resolution
  • Identify efficiencies in client service delivery
  • Execute strategy within corporate guidelines and policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with KeyBank policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years of relevant banking experience with proven client relationship/sales abilities in Public Finance focus sectors
  • Proven experience in investment banking and capability for completely independent activity, including origination, structuring, and execution of large, complex transactions
  • FINRA License S7 required
  • FINRA License S63 required
  • Broad product knowledge and specific technical expertise
  • Superior client relationship management, marketing presentation, and sales skills
  • Extensive knowledge of products and markets
  • Ability to communicate proactively with traders, sales representatives, and clients
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify and mitigate financial and operational risks in deal execution
  • Ability to lead diverse teams and provide strategic direction and mentorship
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies aligned with client goals and market trends
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including C-suite executives
  • Ability to oversee financial planning and revenue forecasting for client mandates
