About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide guidance, coaching, advice, and consultation to managers and employees on standard to moderately complex Employee Relations matters
- Interpret and apply policy, support business objectives, mitigate risk, strengthen manager effectiveness, and facilitate employee engagement
- Triage Employee Relations inquiries and determine appropriate next steps, including consultation, documentation, referral, or escalation
- Escalate complex, sensitive, investigatory, legal, compliance, or high-risk matters to appropriate stakeholders
- Create thorough, timely, and accurate consultation and employment-action documentation in a centralized case system
- Provide timely, professional, and responsive support to employees and managers
- Review and provide feedback on Performance Improvement Plans, termination documentation, and manager correspondence
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive Employee Relations matters and information
- Identify Employee Relations issues and trends and escalate potential risks
- Respond to unemployment insurance claim requests by gathering data, preparing responses, and partnering with stakeholders
- Participate in projects, implementation activities, and line-of-business policy reviews
- Comply with Key policies and procedures and act in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience required
- Employee Relations consultation experience preferred
- Knowledge of employment law, HR practices, and Employee Relations principles
- Ability to analyze standard to moderately complex Employee Relations issues, assess risk, apply policy, and recommend appropriate courses of action
- Experience using HR case management systems, HR information systems, and Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to support employees and managers through sensitive, emotional, or escalated workplace concerns
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in changing, ambiguous, or unstructured environments
- Experience participating in productive collaborative processes
- Critical thinking, emotional intelligence, problem solving, risk management, and business acumen
- Ability to demonstrate Key’s Values and identified Leadership Competencies
- Ability to communicate face to face and by phone; frequent use of a PC/laptop
- Occasional travel including overnight stay
- Knowledge of financial services industry preferred
- Employee Relations investigation experience preferred
- Experience accessing, analyzing, and communicating data-driven insights preferred
- Aptitude for and interest in AI-enabled business process transformation preferred
- Experience using Visier or a similar People Analytics and Workforce Intelligence platform preferred
Benefits
Comp & perks- Base salary range of $57,000.00–$87,000.00 annually
- Eligibility for incentive compensation, which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives
- Hybrid work arrangement (3+ days)
- Flexible options where roles can be performed effectively in a mobile environment
- Occasional travel including overnight stay
