About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver financial planning experiences to Key Private Bank high net worth clients and prospects
  • Work closely with Relationship Managers to acquire and deepen relationships by increasing planning engagement
  • Support prospect and Centers of Influence engagements
  • Support Essential Planning opportunities and lead Advanced Planning conversations
  • Advise on risk management, estate and wealth transfer planning, portfolio management, executive compensation, and business succession planning
  • Participate in prospect, client, and COI meetings as a financial planning expert
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers to advise clients on age milestones, life events, and children/wealth planning opportunities
  • Partner with Fiduciary, Insurance, and Investment teammates to deliver planning services
  • Provide in-market financial planning support and coaching to Relationship Managers
  • Develop Relationship Manager skills focused on Essential Planning priorities
  • Support internal and external planning content development projects
  • Contribute planning thought leadership to Key Wealth Institute
  • Comply with KeyBank policies and procedures and act in clients' and Key's best interests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in business related field or equivalent work experience (required)
  • 5 years in financial planning capacity providing financial planning advice to affluent clients (required)
  • 3 years providing financial planning advice to high net worth clients (preferred)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) (required)
  • Expertise in goals-based planning process, including discovery, plan development and delivery
  • Ability to coach advisors on the planning process - technical and consultative
  • Experience in modeling estate, wealth transfer, multi-generational, liquidity event scenarios
  • Proficiency with planning tools/software; MoneyGuide and Wealth Studios preferred
  • Proven track record of working with high and ultra-high net worth families
  • Experience working with CRM tools
  • Ability to routinely and frequently operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license
  • Occasional travel, including overnight stays

Comp & perks
  • Base salary range of $96,000.00–$181,000.00 annually depending on factors including skills, experience, and geographic location
  • Base salary range of $92,000.00–$172,000.00 annually depending on location and job-related factors
  • Eligibility for incentive compensation, including short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance
