About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive asset performance, reliability, and profitability
- Identify and execute asset optimization opportunities
- Ensure assets operate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
- Liaise with Business Development and lead engineering support for Stage 0 project ideation, feasibility evaluation, and recommendations for cancellation or progression
- Provide engineering input during Pre-FEED and FEED of growth projects
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, commercial, and Business Development teams
- Analyze operational data, monitor performance trends, and recommend improvements
- Develop and implement process enhancements with Process Engineering
- Support reliability programs, maintenance strategies, asset integrity, debottlenecking, and performance improvement planning
- Develop and steward KPIs for asset performance and continuous improvement
- Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment failures and system issues
- Participate in project commissioning and start-up activities
- Integrate new equipment into the Process Technical Monitoring framework
- Provide turnaround and outage support
- Assist in training and mentoring junior engineers and operations personnel
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineering degree (Mechanical, Chemical, or equivalent)
- P. Eng designation in Alberta required
- 7+ years of experience in asset optimization, operations engineering, reliability engineering, or process engineering within the energy sector
- Strong knowledge of process systems, reliability principles, and performance optimization methodologies
- Proven ability to identify and implement optimization strategies in complex operating environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams
