About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and mentor the development team, providing technical direction and best practices
  • Stay hands-on with Java, Spring Boot and microservices, contributing to architecture, coding and code reviews
  • Design and guide cloud-native solutions using Azure, Docker and Kubernetes/AKS
  • Drive technical delivery across legacy modernisation and new technology initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate the roadmap into clear technical priorities and delivery plans
  • Coordinate across Agile teams and manage priorities, dependencies and delivery timelines
  • Promote strong engineering practices across CI/CD, DevOps and infrastructure automation
  • Contribute to the design and optimisation of ETL/data pipelines, Snowflake solutions and Kafka-based messaging
  • Support team development, performance and alignment across international time zones
  • Deliver a strategic enterprise modernisation programme for a global client while guiding a Pune-based development team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of software development experience, including at least 5 years in a technical leadership role
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, Java 8+, Spring Boot and microservices architecture
  • Proven experience with REST APIs and enterprise application development
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes/AKS
  • Experience with Docker and cloud-native application deployment
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and deliver enterprise-scale initiatives in an Agile environment
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across distributed international teams
  • Experience with Snowflake and ETL/data pipelines, including Airflow, Spring Batch or Apache Camel
  • Experience with Kafka or other enterprise messaging platforms
  • Experience with CI/CD and Azure DevOps
  • Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Financial Services / Banking experience
  • Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL/Cosmos DB, Unix scripting or monitoring tools
  • Willingness to work full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work from the Pune office 3 days per week
