About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the assigned distributor sales territory
- Drive product demand while maintaining Keystone's Light Made Easy promise
- Provide sales training to sales agencies and distributor customers
- Educate customers on Keystone products
- Develop long-term relationships with specifiers, customers, sales agents, and end-users
- Oversee and manage independent sales agency performance
- Develop sales plans with sales agencies and department leadership
- Analyze sales trends and develop strategies to capture opportunities
- Become a market expert on Keystone and competitor products, pricing, and trends
- Report market findings to team management
- Travel to markets to call on distributors, specifiers, and end-users
- Maintain contact with existing customers for potential ongoing orders
- Develop and manage contact information for decision-makers
- Display and attend trade shows
- Cold call to develop new business
- Collaborate with Inside Sales on current and future opportunities
- Advise the product team on market trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field is preferred
- Experience in the lighting industry is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional ability to listen and formulate responses that cater to the other person's needs
- Proficiency with computers and software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software
- Ability to learn new computer systems
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills
- Must live within the assigned territory: Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, or Memphis (West TN)
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory
- No onsite office presence is required
