About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute projects from start to finish while providing technical and engineering excellence
  • Manage customer expectations and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Communicate proactively with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Support business development by writing proposals and meeting prospective and current customers
  • Design power distribution systems, including primary distribution, motor feeders, and motor starters/drives
  • Support the design of building general power, HVAC, and lighting systems
  • Design special systems such as grounding electrode systems, emergency backup generators, and UPS systems
  • Evaluate existing power distribution systems and design additional distribution for plant expansions and additions
  • Perform voltage drop and short-circuit calculations
  • Perform arc fault analysis using SKM or a similar calculation tool
  • Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope and apply electrical engineering principles
  • Coordinate work with departments, project team members, and contractors
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years’ electrical engineering experience following graduation
  • Professional Engineering (PE) certification or willingness to pursue this designation
  • Project experience and working knowledge of electrical design for building projects
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
  • Strong electrical design expertise across various industries and processes
  • Comprehensive understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices
  • In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, NESC, and ANSI/IEEE
  • Experience in infrastructure design for manufacturing facilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence stakeholders, build client relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective meeting management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to changing needs, direction, and project demands
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
  • Proficiency with computer technology and business software, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically
  • Preferred: experience in industrial and heavy industrial market segments
  • Preferred: experience in infrastructure design for industrial facilities
  • Preferred: design experience with power systems primarily consisting of motor loads
  • Preferred: experience with electrical designs in hazardous areas, including explosive gas and dust type-rated spaces
  • Ability to work in construction-site terrain and lift or move field-testing equipment
