About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive program portfolio reviews and evaluate alternative plans
- Enhance systems engineering processes and manage and sustain technical baselines
- Design and perform system-level tests to verify subsystem and system performance
- Prepare technical documentation, management reports, technical presentations, and corrective-action documentation
- Perform system validations and analyze major engineering system results
- Provide engineering, technical support, and training across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment, installation, and operations
- Support risk management activities aligned with AF SEAM processes
- Conduct formal trade studies involving performance, cost, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule
- Provide technical recommendations through reviews, studies, audits, evaluations, analyses, guidance, and documentation
- Analyze proposals for technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost-effectiveness
- Review ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, AoAs, CONOPs, technology development strategies, FCAs, PCAs, and technology standards profiles
- Analyze system concepts and user requirements in functional, allocated, and product baselines
- Support engineering technical processes including configuration control, requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, verification, validation, and decision analysis
- Manage risk, configuration, technical data, and interfaces
- Support technical reviews and develop Systems Engineering Plans and Risk Management Plans
- Prepare and review technical documentation, requirements, and engineering analyses for E-3/E-7 AWACS platforms
- Support modeling and simulation, capability evaluations, performance analyses, and subsystem studies
- Use Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Agile collaboration tools to manage engineering data and workflow
- Collaborate with government personnel, military members, defense contractors, and E-7 engineering teams
- Communicate technical concepts in briefings, presentations, and stakeholder discussions
- Balance documentation, requirements analysis, and engineering support across geographically distributed teams
- Travel 20%
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 12+ years of general experience
- 5+ years working in the DoD sector
- Must be a US citizen
- Must have an active Secret clearance
- Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
- Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
- Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
- Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time
