About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to the software development lifecycle for Kinaxis’s cloud platform, including design, implementation, testing, and troubleshooting
- Lead, collaborate, and coordinate across multiple teams as the technical primary for assigned features
- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks
- Support the production SaaS ecosystem with focus on operability, security, performance, scalability, and availability
- Translate business and technical requirements into infrastructure as code
- Build and enhance CI/CD platforms, deployment pipelines, and self-service capabilities
- Implement complex software engineering solutions focused on automation, security, self-healing, and monitoring
- Troubleshoot cloud-platform issues, identify defects, explain platform behavior, and recommend solutions and workarounds
- Resolve and test moderate to advanced defects
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics for platform health, cloud usage, and costs
- Drive reliability and cost-optimization process improvements
- Apply best practices for IAM, role-based access control, network security, vulnerability management, environment isolation, and compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and act as a subject matter expert and technical advisor
- Collaborate with internal engineering, product, security, and customer-success teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent related discipline
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or a related field
- 6+ years hands-on experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS; GCP preferred
- Strong experience designing, building, and operating cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
- Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, and automation tooling
- Experience developing automation solutions using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Solid understanding of IAM, networking, security, and cloud governance best practices
- Experience troubleshooting complex platform and infrastructure issues in production environments
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to technical knowledge sharing
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices
- Experience with Terraform modules, layered architecture, state management, and remote backends
- Experience with Ansible roles, playbooks, WinRM, and Linux targets
- Experience with GKE/AKS cluster operations, node pools, Workload Identity Federation, and namespace management
- Knowledge of GCP VPC networking, Azure networking, IAM design, Auth0, Entra ID, Okta, and HashiCorp Vault
- Experience with GitHub Actions reusable workflows, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Packer, Argo CD/GitOps, and artifact registries
- Experience with Windows Server automation, patching, and hardening via Ansible
- Development experience in Go, Python, and Shell/Bash
- Experience leading or mentoring platform or infrastructure engineers
- Ability to define technical direction, break down epics into stories, and drive delivery across a squad
- Strong written and verbal communication, technical documentation, ADRs, and runbooks
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience with Linux patching automation, monitoring and alerting, incident response, runbooks, escalation, and post-mortems
