About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and interpret revenue contracts and agreements
- Determine revenue recognition criteria and application
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS
- Raise revenue-related journals and ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue data
- Prepare and review revenue-related financial reports and disclosures
- Reconcile revenue accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Reconcile customer accounts (wallets) and resolve discrepancies
- Perform ad hoc activities assigned by the Head of Finance Operations or CFO
- Assist with internal and external audits and ensure revenue-related compliance
- Monitor accounting standards and regulatory changes
- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition practices
- Identify and implement process improvements
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, central cross-functional teams, internal departments, and external auditors
- Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is a must
- At least 5-year experience in revenue accounting or a related role
- Flexibility in thinking and pragmatic
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in person and in writing with C-Level individuals
- Time and Priority Management Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP or Oracle NetSuite is an added advantage
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of coding and handling big data is an added advantage
- Knowledge and use of AI tools is an added advantage
