About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, supervise, develop, and support a maintenance team of approximately 3–4 employees across day- and night-shift manufacturing operations
  • Establish daily and weekly maintenance priorities based on production requirements, equipment condition, safety concerns, preventive maintenance schedules, and work orders
  • Schedule and coordinate repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of production machinery, tools, equipment, and facility systems
  • Provide technical direction and troubleshooting support for mechanical and electrical equipment issues
  • Coordinate maintenance coverage and priorities across shifts
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, HSE/Safety, site leadership, contractors, and other departments to resolve equipment concerns and minimize downtime
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including Total Productive Maintenance initiatives
  • Review work orders, equipment history, downtime information, maintenance reports, production data, and performance indicators to identify recurring problems and corrective actions
  • Inspect machinery and equipment for operational, safety, and performance compliance
  • Lead root-cause analysis of recurring equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions
  • Improve equipment reliability, operational efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, and equipment utilization
  • Develop maintenance methods and procedures to reduce downtime, control costs, and improve labor and material utilization
  • Coordinate fabrication, modification, installation, and improvement of machinery, tooling, and equipment
  • Review new equipment, product, and process plans and support equipment requirements, modifications, installation, and commissioning
  • Direct maintenance activities for facility and utility systems, including electrical power, compressed air, heating, and cooling
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of critical spare parts, supplies, tools, and equipment
  • Coordinate outside contractors and vendors, including scopes of work, quotes, scheduling, performance monitoring, and completed-work inspections
  • Ensure compliance with site safety requirements, OSHA requirements, company standards, LOTO procedures, electrical safety requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Promote a strong maintenance safety culture and safe-work practices
  • Communicate maintenance priorities, equipment status, outstanding issues, and completed work across shifts and departments
  • Coach, train, and develop maintenance employees
  • Participate in performance management, employee development, scheduling, and other supervisory responsibilities
  • Perform other duties required to support facility needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred; or five or more years of related industrial maintenance experience and/or technical training; or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or maintenance team-lead experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment problems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, equipment blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of motors, drives, controls, sensors, electrical distribution, and other industrial electrical components
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles and equipment reliability practices
  • Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and utility systems commonly found in manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to effectively lead employees working across multiple shifts
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with production employees, maintenance technicians, supervisors, managers, engineers, contractors, and senior site leadership
  • Ability to balance immediate production needs with long-term equipment reliability and preventive maintenance objectives
  • Proficiency in or ability to effectively utilize CMMS, SAP or similar ERP systems, database and inventory management software, project management platforms, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and technical/design software as applicable
