About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to designing and carrying out the monthly close, targeting a five-business-day close
Establish finance processes from a blank page using a modern tech stack
Develop AP and AR workflows
Create an expense policy
Manage customer billing and vendor onboarding
Manage the monthly hosting-cost pass-through
Manage the audit request list for the assigned scope
Work directly with auditors and tax advisors
Coordinate tax and corporate compliance filings with outside providers
Partner with the operations administrator on AR and AP
Contribute to variance analysis and analytical reviews during month-end close
Identify and automate manual steps in the close and billing cycles
Contribute to creating an internal control framework, including risk assessments and control implementation
Report to the Controller and help shape the finance function as the company grows

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting or audit
Proactive mindset and ability to self-start
Ownership mindset and ability to work effectively in a scale-up environment
Ability to learn new systems quickly
Preference for fixing workflows rather than working around them
Forward-thinking approach to scalable solutions
Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Clear writing skills and ability to explain numbers to non-finance professionals
U.S. citizenship required
Sole U.S. citizenship required; dual citizenship is not permitted
Ability to provide documentation verifying sole U.S. citizenship during the background check process
Successful completion of required pre-employment screenings, including a background check
