About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Follow software lifecycle practices driving reliability, observability and efficiency across product teams within the domain
- Identify repeated toil and find opportunities for automation
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents
- Conduct blameless retrospectives and root-cause analyses (RCAs) to drive continuous improvement
- Proactively identify failures before outages using chaos engineering techniques, edge cases, failure modes and design review
- Perform additional assigned tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field
- Programming skills in one or more languages (Java, Python, Go or Node.js)
- Working experience on IBM Mainframe (TSO/ISPF, JCL, Batch job scheduling, transaction processing (CICS) and Security (RACF)
- Basic knowledge of systems architecture, operating system internals and network fundamentals
- Basic knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture, database schemas and testing strategies
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Working experience with Elixir
- Basic knowledge of continuous integration, continuous deployment and test-driven development
- Basic understanding of containerization and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher)
- Basic understanding of configuration management (e.g., Chef, Ansible, Puppet)
- Familiarity with monitoring techniques and tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Tracing)
