About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Safely operate and maintain the asphalt plant and construction equipment
- Order supplies and manage plant crew
- Travel to surrounding Northeast Ohio plants as needed to cover time-off requests, night shifts, and project demands
- Perform walk-around and site inspections to identify and correct unsafe conditions
- Perform preventive maintenance and service equipment as needed
- Communicate with quality control personnel and adjust material blends
- Monitor mix-material inventory and order materials as needed
- Monitor production levels and adjust production as needed
- Calibrate the plant
- Supervise and train plant employees
- Monitor plant site for safe and efficient traffic flow
- Troubleshoot and discuss production problems with co-workers and supervisors
- Complete plant reports and other documentation
- Clean the control house and yard facility daily
- Maintain ongoing customer relations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Knowledge of asphalt plant operations
- Strong attention to detail
- Initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other responsibilities as requested
- Willingness to work day or night shift, including weekends
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to safely operate and maintain asphalt plants and construction equipment
- Ability to perform equipment walk-arounds and site inspections
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance
