About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate construction activities for industrial projects, including data centers and power plants
  • Oversee one large project or multiple smaller projects
  • Ensure project goals are achieved within prescribed timeframes and funding parameters
  • Manage Project Engineers, Superintendents, and Foremen, including overall team direction, coordination, and evaluation
  • Liaise with the prime client to facilitate construction activities
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, performance standards, work plans, and staffing
  • Direct and coordinate project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget
  • Review project proposals, plans, status reports, schedules, funding limitations, staffing requirements, and resources
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, and others
  • Provide technical advice and resolve problems with project personnel
  • Coordinate activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors
  • Analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules
  • Monitor and control construction through the on-site Superintendent to ensure safe, timely, and budget-compliant delivery
  • Represent the company in owner progress meetings
  • Manage contract financial aspects and project profit or loss
  • Lead daily field coordination, weekly block schedule, and monthly safety kickoff meetings
  • Mentor team members and assist with career development
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, work assignment, performance appraisal, discipline, and problem resolution

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • PE credentialing is not required but is a strong plus
  • 5+ years’ experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required
  • Understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards
  • Apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Business-oriented mindset
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others
