About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, implement, and deliver safety education and training correspondence and materials
- Educate team members on the Company Safety and Health Management System
- Develop, modify, and roll out safety content aligned with company practices
- Conduct new-hire onboarding, including drug testing, Workday information collection, and new-hire/site-specific safety orientation
- Execute safety training tailored to the company and project site using in-person, online, or blended formats
- Develop manuals, guides, presentations, Safety Talks, and handouts
- Collaborate with Safety leadership and operations management to evaluate learning outcomes and improve training
- Maintain attendance records, training materials, evaluations, and participant feedback
- Ensure team members meet safety training and certification requirements
- Generate reports assessing training effectiveness and informing future initiatives
- Facilitate on-site safety training and online learning
- Incorporate risk mitigation strategies into training programs and materials
- Develop specialized content with Safety leadership, operational management, and subject matter experts
- Use multimedia and MS Office Suite to enhance learning communications and materials
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in safety and health or equivalent combinations of technical training and experience
- 3 to 10+ years of experience with safety and health in the construction industry preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and other state/federal safety regulations
- Knowledge of company safety policies/procedures
- Ability to prioritize tasks independently and manage safety programs effectively
- Proficiency developing training and educational materials
- Proficiency with training methodologies and online learning platforms
- Ability to work in a high production environment (50+ hours/week, including nights and weekends)
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
- Personal computer skills with MS Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Phone Apps, Power BI, etc.
- Strong organization and administrative recording skills
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and seek guidance on complex situations
- Subject matter expertise in two or more elements of the safety and health management system
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think independently and influence implementation of safety and health policies and procedures
- Ability to make independent judgments related to safety programs and policies
- Ability to interact positively with supervisors, operations managers, and field team members
- Ability to handle difficult or sensitive conversations
- Knowledge of multiple projects and operations and ability to integrate best practices
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour and 10-Hour Trainer certification preferred
- GSP, ASP, CSP, or CHST designation preferred
