About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate equipment and perform other duties as directed by supervision
- Follow safe operating practices in production, maintenance, inspections, and housekeeping
- Inspect, clean, and perform repairs as needed or as skills allow
- Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions and inform the supervisor
- Operate front-end loader and skid-steer loader
- Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling, and greasing of equipment
- Maintain the general appearance and housekeeping of equipment
- Operate within the general mine plan
- Report maintenance issues to the maintenance manager
- Report trucking or truck issues to the plant manager
- Communicate trucking-related needs or requests to the scale house
- Travel or float between four plant locations as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- This position does not require a CDL
- Ability to travel to and from multiple sites
- Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, safety information, and hazard labels
- Corrected eyesight, color vision, depth perception, hearing, and balance acceptable for safe operation of mobile equipment
- Adequate or corrected hearing acceptable for safe operation of mobile equipment
- Free of the influence of drugs or controlled substances that can affect judgment or coordination
- Knowledge of all related safety guidelines and procedures
- General mechanical skills
- Physical/functional requirements as indicated for the position
