About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Procure and expedite delivery of parts to support expected demand and replenishment requirements
Expedite non-stock and stock backorders
Ensure adequate inventory levels to meet distributor requirements
Identify supplier deficiencies and recommend improvement actions to management
Address supplier lead-time inaccuracies and other issues affecting availability goals
Achieve supplier performance metrics
Make fact-based decisions on supplier overtime
Manage a proportional share of the premium freight budget
Collaborate with planners to proactively cover demand, kits, and firm future orders
Aggressively expedite suppliers to support department goals
Conduct “5 Why” root cause analysis and recommend actions, including supplier meetings and visits
Research options to improve delivery dates
Analyze alternate sources of supply, including Komatsu affiliates, surplus, and dealer inventory
Make business decisions concerning supplier overtime, minimum order requirements, and quantity pricing
Participate in team meetings and suggest process improvements
Expedite and manage core returns for remanufactured products if assigned
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Seasoned general business or industry experience
High school diploma required
College degree a plus
Extreme sense of urgency
Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills
Personally accountable and welcomes responsibility
Functional level skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to communicate orally effectively and professionally and in written form with suppliers and internal functions within KAC
Prior experience with logistics data systems
Ability to quickly develop deep working knowledge of PIPS, PREPS, CSS, SAP, Baan, PWINS, Inventory Planning System, and other manufacturing computer systems
General knowledge of manufacturing processes a plus
