About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work directly with clients to understand their operations and needs
Lead discovery sessions and client conversations
Build trust, demonstrate ideas, and guide clients toward effective platform capabilities
Investigate workflows, systems, and data
Develop solution options, explain trade-offs, and establish practical paths forward
Configure Kraken’s platform and determine when custom software is needed
Design, implement, test, and release production software
Use agents in investigation, development, and testing while remaining accountable for shipped work
Triage and fix issues
Support adoption and verify that solutions address the original problems
Partner with client engineering, delivery, and product teams
Identify opportunities to turn solutions into reusable capabilities and ways of working

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong software engineering experience independently delivering and maintaining production software
Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, review changes, and make sound technical decisions
Demonstrated client-facing skills, including leading discovery or solution discussions
Ability to explain technical choices to engineering and non-technical audiences
Practical problem-solving ability with incomplete specifications
Ability to use coding agents and AI-enabled tools effectively while applying engineering judgment
Ownership and follow-through through to a working result
Comfort with ambiguity and a fast-paced environment
Collaborative engineering mindset
Patience and ability to explain complex things simply
Right to work in the country of application; no visa sponsorship available
Bonus: experience in energy, utilities, billing, or switching in regulated markets
