About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide fractional accounting consulting services as an employee of Kranz Consulting to startup and emerging growth company clients
  • Collaborate closely with client senior management in an operational and financial staff role
  • Receive incoming invoices, match invoices to purchase orders, route approvals and payments, enter invoices into accounting systems, prepare weekly accounts payable listings, identify vendors for payment, and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
  • Process expense reimbursement requests and prepare 1099s
  • Prepare and process payroll and related journal entries
  • Assist with bank transactions, weekly cash forecasting, cash transfer requests, cash account reconciliations, and routing checks for signature
  • Receive incoming checks, prepare weekly cash collections and aged receivables reports, and assist with collections
  • Maintain month-end account reconciliations and compliance with accepted policies and procedures
  • Assist the finance department as needed
  • Support Sales & Use tax, Delaware Franchise tax, and unsecured property taxes (571L)
  • Perform month-end activities and balance sheet reconciliations, including accrued prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting
  • 4+ years of previous accounting experience
  • Proficiency with accounting and transaction systems, including QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Bill.com, and Expensify, in a user capacity
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting applications and platforms
  • Prior consulting experience is preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and responsive communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, be proactive, solve problems, and learn new things
  • Outstanding PC skills with MS Office and Google Suite
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require sponsorship now or in the future
