About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serves as the technical expert for Oracle database design, performance and security.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex database and performance issues.
- Reviews database designs, SQL and PL/SQL code for quality and efficiency.
- Plans and supports database upgrades, migrations and consolidations.
- Recommends standards, tools and best practices for Oracle environments.
- Supports high availability and disaster recovery planning.
- Mentors database administrators and developers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field required.
- 7+ years of Oracle database experience across administration and development.
- Expert knowledge of Oracle architecture, SQL and PL/SQL.
- Experience with performance tuning tools such as AWR, ASH and SQL Tuning Advisor.
- Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard or similar high availability tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Continually required to use common office equipment including but not limited to computers, phones, scanners and printers.
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or AWS database services preferred.
- Experience supporting federal government contracts preferred.
