About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, install and configure servers, operating systems and system software
Maintain development, test and production environments
Apply patches, updates and security hardening settings
Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure issues
Automate system tasks and deployments with scripts and configuration tools
Support backup, recovery and disaster recovery planning
Maintain system documentation and diagrams
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field required
5+ years of systems engineering or administration experience
Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS or Azure
Scripting experience with shell, PowerShell or Python
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Ability to use common office equipment including computers, phones, scanners and printers
Preferred: Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, RHCE or AWS/Azure certifications
Preferred: Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible or Terraform
Preferred: Experience supporting federal government contracts
