About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Comply with local, state and federal regulations; report illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
- Comply with food safety, sanitation and safety regulations and procedures; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management
- Perform ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers
- Manage and order medications, devices, supplements and supplies using computerized inventory systems
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and customer waiting areas
- Count, measure and prepare specified products
- Complete billing procedures
- Answer and triage phone calls and inquiries
- Handle vendor coupons, cash shortages and company shrink guidelines
- Operate the cash register and process credit/debit cards, EBT, gift cards, cash and checks
- Provide customer service through reception, data entry, adjudication and product dispensing
- Assist the pharmacist except in responsibilities requiring professional judgment
- Follow HIPAA regulations and company policies
- Support company health and wellness initiatives
- Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs and older adults
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years old
- Ability to handle highly confidential information
- Meets minimum state requirements to perform the functions related to the position
- Any previous comparable experience (desired)
- Any equivalent experience of a pharmacy clerk (desired)
- EPRN familiarity (desired)
