About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise overall plant operations, production flow, on-floor operations and personnel
- Ensure quality standards, production capacity and safety requirements are met
- Supervise, train and cross-train KWS and seasonal employees in machine operations, in-line quality checks and cleanouts
- Ensure personnel have the proper information, training and tools
- Determine daily duties and assign the best-qualified employees
- Operate MES, SCADA or HMI manufacturing software
- Hold regular employee meetings to discuss issues, performance, needs and concerns
- Develop and maintain respectful working relationships across departments
- Conduct the annual Employee Supervisor Dialogue
- Develop and update SOPs
- Perform light to medium preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot quality, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and computer issues
- Maintain facility housekeeping
- Investigate root causes of quality issues, equipment breakdowns and malfunctions
- Ensure company handbook, RGPs and safety policies are followed and PPE is used correctly
- Work variable hours as needed
- Occasionally travel, drive or operate a forklift for business purposes
- Meet attendance requirements and perform other assigned duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years or equivalent combination of education and experience gained in industrial business sector required
- Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, organizational and training skills
- Strong technical skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to work variable work hours as needed
- Able to become forklift certified
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: BS in agriculture, with consideration given to other credentials and relevant work history
- Preferred: Experience working with SCADA, HMI and MES software
- Preferred: General working and mechanical knowledge
- Preferred: Ability to train others to operate HMI interfaces
- Must wear required PPE as needed
- Able to work in high and precarious places and safely cover multiple areas including staircases
- Able to work in varied environmental conditions, including loud, hot, cold, dusty and damp environments
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends, night shifts and holidays
- Ability to work individually and within a team setting
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; employer participates in E-Verify
