About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting activities across Cash, Fixed Assets, Intercompany, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Time and Labor, and Leases
  • Evaluate financial data and perform analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
  • Prepare financial reporting materials, including rollforwards, reporting schedules, and variance analyses
  • Evaluate agreements, reports, and data to determine appropriate accounting treatment
  • Communicate across functions to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures
  • Improve processes and enhance performance through automation
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees
  • Explain and interpret accounting policies, procedures, and practices
  • Support internal and external audit requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
  • Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle
  • Experience driving and leading special projects
  • Experience with automation
  • Proficiency in SAP, PeopleSoft, Costpoint, HFM, ARCS, and CoStar
  • Strong foundation in accounting principles and GAAP
  • Knowledge of internal controls and related regulations, including Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Strong understanding of ASC 842 Lease Accounting and ASC 360 Property, Plant, and Equipment standards and requirements
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • CPA, CFA, CPP, or CMA designation is a plus
  • Experience with Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting
  • Experience with external auditors and audit requirements for internal controls and government compliance, including SOX and DCAA
