About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply, enhance, and develop image and signal processing techniques for the Airborne Sensors program
  • Analyze digital data and underlying phenomena
  • Lead an analysis and operations team developing capabilities for airborne collection platforms
  • Support collection events
  • Perform data reduction
  • Generate data artifacts and reports
  • Perform atmosphere modeling and analysis
  • Support national defense activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or have completed a bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months
  • Ability to pass an FAA Class 3 flight physical
  • Ability to deploy to remote sites for extended periods with a flexible schedule
  • Experience with Python, including Jupyter Notebooks, NumPy, SciPy, OpenCV, and Matplotlib, or MATLAB Image/Signal Processing Toolboxes
  • Preferred: digital image reduction, analysis, and signal processing techniques experience
  • Preferred: object detection and tracking experience
  • Preferred: Python, MATLAB, or other scripting language experience
  • Preferred: engineering concepts and theory and applying them to develop new concepts and technical practices
  • Preferred: Windows OS experience
