About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for a large nationwide network within the Network Operations Control Center
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network problems using network management and monitoring tools
  • Monitor network alarm conditions to proactively identify and minimize disruption to the FAA network
  • Perform root cause analysis and determine plans of action for restoring customer services
  • Employ test methods to analyze channelized/unchanneled T1, T3, DACs equipment, Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, LAN, SONET, and TDM
  • Assist Local Exchange Carriers, ILECs, and IXCs in resolving WAN problems
  • Remotely assist onsite field technicians with local issues
  • Work in an onsite 24x7x365 NOCC environment with rotating shifts
  • Periodically support short-term emergency evacuation to local or remote backup facilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Networking, or Information Technology, or have completed a Bachelor’s degree within the last 12 months
  • CCNA Certification or must obtain within 3 months of start date
  • Ability to work onsite in a 24x7x365 NOCC environment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts as required by business needs
  • Workday schedule flexibility required
  • Ability to support short-term emergency evacuation to local or remote backup facilities
  • Technical knowledge of channelized/unchanneled T1, T3, DACs equipment, Ethernet, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, WAN, LAN, SONET, and TDM
