About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Test L3Harris products and systems in customer scenarios with an end-user focus
  • Contribute to test plans and procedures
  • Set up, configure, and operate sophisticated data and voice communication equipment
  • Generate trouble reports to communicate issues found and characterize repeatability
  • Work with development engineers to suggest and support trouble-report resolutions
  • Refine team procedures, practices, and collection and reporting of performance data
  • Support continuous improvement in test execution
  • Occasionally support new business pursuit activities, including demos, proposals, and application information such as diagrams and write-ups
  • Occasionally travel and interact with customers to support business pursuit activities
  • Execute field test exercises to verify requirements and validate operational and mission scenarios

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
  • Familiarity with RF communications and propagation
  • Knowledge of or experience with networking, including TCP/IP, LAN and WAN technologies
  • Strong documentation skills for test development, test enhancements, and status reporting
  • Strong adaptive learning skills
  • Effective communication skills across a variety of employee levels
  • Ability to support multiple projects at one time
  • Prior military or professional communications experience including radio operation and/or repair/troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Tactical Communications technologies and applications
  • Ability to work outside in virtually all-weather conditions applicable to the Rochester, NY area
  • Ability to occasionally lift and install equipment and work in and around vehicles
  • Ability to drive L3Harris vehicles
