About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Directly supervise five remote Field Technicians across Kansas City, CS Airspace
  • Provide onsite support and interface with the customer at the Kansas City Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZKC/ARTCC)
  • Work closely with the Network Operations Command Center (NOCC) to receive dispatches and service requests supporting FAA programs
  • Provide general and technical training and guidance to team members implementing and maintaining services for large government networks and systems
  • Provide onsite training and support and ensure team members follow program and company policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Allocate team resources effectively and efficiently to meet operational needs
  • Assist with objective setting, skill enhancement, employee concern resolution, and performance reviews
  • Obtain customer feedback and guide teams to provide timely, quality customer service
  • Serve as an escalation point of contact for unresolved Help Desk or NOCC problems
  • Install, repair, configure, test, and perform preventative maintenance on personal computers, network equipment, and telecommunications equipment
  • Maintain records of repairs, downtime, changes, and updates
  • Work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and respond to after-hours emergency calls
  • Travel to remote sites or outside assigned regions to support additional program or customer requests

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree with 0–2 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience
  • Experience with fiber, multiplexes, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, and voice and data applications
  • Experience with cable connectors and replacements including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449
  • Experience with power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC
  • Experience operating 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies
  • Experience with network and circuit testing using T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards
  • Experience with Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital O-scope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope, or other T1/DS3 test sets
  • Experience with Microsoft or UNIX operating systems and components of the MS Office Suite
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Security Clearance
  • May be asked to obtain and maintain active DOD Secret Clearance
  • Ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls
  • Ability to travel up to 100% at a time to remote sites or outside assigned regions
  • Ability to lift items up to 32 lbs and use ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 ft
  • Preferred: CCNA, CCNP, A+, MCP or MCDST certification
  • Preferred: Dell certification on desktop and laptop systems
  • Preferred: experience with service dispatch centers
  • Preferred: experience interfacing with customers
