About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide field support for L3Harris Technologies’ Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
- Support FAA contracts including FTI, ADS-B, DCNS, and other FSG programs
- Perform field support in New York airspaces
- Travel to FAA site locations within a 3-hour drive from the Buffalo, New York area
- Install equipment racks in wallmount, raised-floor, concrete, and other environments
- Configure routers and switches
- Conduct network and circuit testing
- Work on-call from home and respond to operational needs and after-hours emergencies
- Travel to remote sites and potentially outside the assigned region
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Good working knowledge of cable connectors including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449
- Excellent working knowledge of fiber, multiplexes, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, and voice/data applications
- Working knowledge of AC/DC power testing, including 3 Phase AC, and 24VDC/48VDC power supplies
- Experience with T1, DS3, BERT, and Analog VG testing within Bell Core Standards
- Working knowledge of network test equipment including JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope, or other T1/DS3 test sets
- IP-based knowledge and experience configuring routers and switches
- Experience installing equipment racks
- Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Security Clearance from a Public Trust background investigation
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and DOD Secret Clearance
- Valid driver's license and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent with satisfactory driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% of the time to remote sites within a 3-hour drive circle of the base location and outside the assigned region as needed
- Ability to lift 70 pounds
- Ability to use ladders and step stools to reach approximately 10 feet
- Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress, high-visibility environment
- Preferred: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, or A+ certifications
