About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical support for each specific program/system L3Harris supports for the FAA, including FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS, and others
  • Install, repair, configure, test, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment at customers’ remote locations
  • Work remotely in scheduled and on-call capacity at various customer locations within the assigned area
  • Travel occasionally to remote sites outside the assigned area to support FAA customer needs
  • Read, understand, and follow equipment drawings and task orders
  • Take notes and document work performed at customer locations
  • Work directly with the NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk by phone to resolve field issues
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory, and personal or company vehicle
  • Prepare proactively for assigned tasks before dispatch
  • Work with the supervisor (ASL) to ensure L3Harris and program-specific policies and procedures are followed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
  • Obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust Security Clearance and a DOD Secret Clearance
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and/or local US State REAL ID equivalent and a satisfactory driving record
  • Ability to work from home in an on-call status
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active FAA Security Clearance
  • Must be willing to travel up to 100% of the time to remote sites within a 3-hour drive circle of base location; may travel outside assigned region as needed
  • Capable of lifting 32 pounds
  • Capable of utilizing ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 feet
  • Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a high-stress and high-visibility environment
  • Good working knowledge of cable connectors including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, and RS-449
  • Excellent working knowledge of fiber; working knowledge of multiplexers, network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, and voice and data applications
  • Good working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC; familiarity with 24VDC and 48VDC power supplies
  • Experience with network and circuit testing using T1 Testing Specifications, DS3 Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Core Standards
  • Working knowledge and use of network test equipment including JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope, or other T1/DS3 test sets
  • IP-based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
  • Experience installing equipment racks (wall mount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
  • Preferred: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Wireless, A+
