About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support an engineering team in defining, designing, implementing, documenting, testing, and sustaining security solutions on National Security Systems and systems engineered for government customers
  • Use NIST RMF, CNSSI 1253, JSIG, FIPS, and related standards to certify and achieve system accreditations
  • Work with system developers and commercial product vendors to design and evaluate secure systems, networks, and database products
  • Apply encryption technology, vulnerability analysis, and security management methods
  • Write and maintain security planning, assessment, monitoring, traceability, and risk documentation
  • Implement and assess security controls across computing and network nodes and verify their implementation
  • Perform systems/software engineering activities, including data flow diagrams, interface control documents, trade studies, SAST, STIG compliance, and summary reports
  • Define and manage security architectures, system boundaries, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation/remediation strategies
  • Configure and use defense and assessment tools for on-premises data centers and secure cloud-based systems
  • Develop Configuration Management Plans for cloud and other environments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum 8 years of prior related experience
  • Active Top Secret security clearance required
  • DoD 8140.03 IASAE Level 2 certification required
  • Active TS/SCI with poly highly desired
  • Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework and NIST Special Publications 800-37, 800-53, 800-171
  • Knowledge of CNSSI 1253, JSIG, and FIPS
  • Experience writing System Security Plans, Security Control Traceability Matrices, Continuous Monitoring Plans, Security Assessment Plans & Procedures, Security Concept of Operations, and Plans of Action and Milestones
  • Experience implementing and assessing security controls
  • Experience with data flow diagrams, interface control documents, trade studies, and SAST
  • Experience with Fortify/Coverity and GitLab in DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience defining and managing systems/security architectures, vulnerability management, risk mitigation and remediation strategies
  • Experience with hardware, software, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus systems, software deployment tools, and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS cloud environments
  • Preferred: Model Based Systems Engineering using UML, SysML, or UAF
  • Preferred: Tenable NESSUS vulnerability analysis tools
  • Preferred: Splunk or similar SIEM/audit reduction tools
