About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support engineering teams in defining, designing, implementing, documenting, testing, and sustaining security solutions on National Security Systems and systems engineered for government customers
  • Apply NIST RMF, NIST SP 800-37, 800-53, 800-171, CNSSI 1253, JSIG, and FIPS to certify and achieve system accreditations
  • Work with system developers and commercial product vendors to design and evaluate secure systems, networks, and database products
  • Perform incident response, cyber threat identification, defensive cyber operations coordination, malware analysis, supply chain risk management assessments, vendor provenance, and counterfeit detection
  • Write System Security Plans, Security Control Traceability Matrices, Continuous Monitoring Plans, Security Assessment Plans and Procedures, Security Concepts of Operations, and Plans of Action and Milestones
  • Implement and assess security controls, define security control baselines, apply controls to computing/network nodes, and verify implementation
  • Create data flow diagrams and interface control documents, perform trade studies, and conduct SAST for application security and STIG compliance
  • Generate summary reports within DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Define and manage system/security architectures, boundaries, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation/remediation strategies
  • Configure and use defense and assessment tools across on-premises data centers and secure cloud-based systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance after hire
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • DoD 8140.03 Level 3 or 4 certification
  • Experience with NIST Risk Management Framework and related NIST publications
  • Knowledge of CNSSI 1253, JSIG, and FIPS
  • Experience implementing and assessing security controls
  • Experience with system security categorization and security control overlays
  • Experience with SAST, Fortify/Coverity, GitLab, and DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience defining and managing security architectures, vulnerability management, and risk mitigation/remediation strategies
  • Experience with cloud environments and IaaS/PaaS/SaaS implementations
  • Preferred: Model Based Systems Engineering using UML, SysML, or UAF
  • Preferred: Tenable NESSUS vulnerability analysis tools
  • Preferred: SEIM/audit reduction tools such as Splunk
