About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Collaborate with global trade teams, IT teams, and external partners to gather and document business requirements
Analyze current processes and systems to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications
Design IT solutions supporting customs compliance, import/export processes, and trade finance
Ensure solutions align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Assist with planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects related to global trade
Work with project managers to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget
Liaise between business stakeholders and technical teams
Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather input and validate solutions
Ensure IT solutions comply with international trade regulations and standards
Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies with relevant teams
Develop and execute test plans
Support user acceptance testing and resolve issues
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation
Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions
Create business requirements, process flows, and user guides
Provide stakeholders and senior management with updates on project status, risks, and issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience, or 10 years of prior related experience in lieu of a degree
Minimum 4 years of experience in IT business analysis
Experience working with ERP systems and global trade management software
Hands-on experience supporting global trade operations within an IT context
Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies
Familiarity with global trade systems such as Descartes OCR EASE or similar platforms
Knowledge of data analysis, reporting tools, and process modeling
Understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and import/export processes
Experience with data integration, APIs, and system interfaces
Knowledge of automation tools and technologies
PMP, CBAP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Familiarity with trade finance, supply chain operations, and logistics processes
