About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide full lifecycle engineering leadership across software and hardware development, assembly, integration, and test efforts
- Plan, coordinate, and execute technical activities from concept development through design, build, integration, verification, delivery, and sustainment
- Lead project teams to meet customer requirements within allocated cost and schedule commitments
- Develop, oversee, and coordinate cost, schedule, and technical aspects of engineering projects within program guidelines
- Review engineering project and budget status, manage schedules, drive execution, identify opportunities, and achieve payment milestones
- Assess engineering issues and develop resolutions supporting productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Identify, track, mitigate, manage, and disposition program-level risks and opportunities
- Estimate project/product resource and material needs
- Coordinate between resource managers/supervisors and ensure required reviews and approvals are received
- Develop schedules using Earned Value and manage projects using Earned Value indicators on DCMA-surveilled programs
- Participate in small teams and perform varied execution-driving tasks, including value stream mapping
- Collaborate with program management, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and customers
- Maintain regular customer contact on quick-reaction projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years of prior related experience
- In lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years of prior related experience
- Integrated product team lead/Cost account management (IPTL/CAM) experience
- Experience in satellite system development
- Experience with system integration, verification and validation, and production or deployment support
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment on quick reaction projects
- PMP certification desired
- Active DoD security clearance preferred
- Preferred experience with project engineering and program execution best practices
- Preferred experience with space-based remote sensing payloads, space vehicles, and defense missions
- Preferred experience managing multi-discipline programs across multiple locations
- Preferred experience in software development and integration programs
- Preferred experience managing projects with total budgets of $70M+
- Preferred experience or knowledge of the Government contract acquisition lifecycle
- Preferred experience with design-to-cost activities
- Preferred experience with program pursuit and proposal activities
- Preferred experience with operations and/or manufacturing activities
- Preferred experience with Root Cause Corrective Action processes and techniques
