About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform NDT inspections of precision components from in-house manufacture and assembly, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Update and maintain paperwork associated with NDT inspection procedures
- Maintain NDT equipment and carry out required checks in accordance with procedures
- Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers when required
- Inspect precision components from in-house manufacture and assembly and goods received from suppliers
- Update and maintain paperwork associated with inspection procedures
- Complete defect investigation reports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior related Mechanical Inspection experience
- Experience in MPI (Magnetic Particle Inspection) and LPI (Liquid Penetrant Inspection) flaw detection equipment
- Good understanding of NDT inspection techniques
- Ability to write NDT techniques
- Mechanical manufacturing experience
- Good working knowledge of ISO 9001:2001
- Good working knowledge of AS9100 Rec D ideally
- Attention to detail
- Good PC skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload appropriately
- Methodical approach to work
- Ability to understand and interpret Geometric Engineering Drawings
- Experience using Precision Measuring Equipment
- Good understanding of Mechanical Inspection Techniques
- Ability to complete defect investigation reports (DIRs)
- Current and in-date Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing certification in Magnetic Particle Testing of Aerospace Products, PCN Certified or BS EN 4179:2009
- Current and in-date Level 2 Non-Destructive Testing certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing of Aerospace Products, PCN Certified or BS EN 4179:2009
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification
- UK right to work
- UK nationality and eligibility to obtain security clearance may be required due to the nature of the work
