About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Join the Mission Networks team developing secure, reliable telecommunications networks and information management systems
- Design, develop, and field cloud architectures meeting system requirements
- Participate throughout the systems development lifecycle, including pursuit, technical baseline development, requirements development, system-level software design, integration support, testing, and selloff
- Support Business Development by writing white papers, performing trade studies, rapid prototyping, and preparing technical proposal responses
- Interface with customers to understand use cases, define requirements, design cloud-capable solutions, support system-level testing, and field solutions in customer environments
- Design large-scale distributed systems using microservices and containers
- Provide hands-on assistance to implementation, R&D, and software teams
- Create and maintain virtualized, containerized, and cloud-ready environments, including component updates and security updates
- Collaborate with security teams to define and implement security controls
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Cloud, Microservices, IaC, and DevSecOps
- Serve as a technical expert on industry trends, tools, and methodologies to improve solution delivery
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience
- OR Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
- OR 16 years of software experience in lieu of degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA public trust, requiring U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain required security clearance/access eligibility where applicable
- 5+ years leading software teams delivering enterprise solutions using RESTful Web Services, Microservices and/or Cloud components (AWS preferred)
- 3+ years leveraging Cloud Service Providers for cloud-based solutions involving cloud computing, containers, VPC, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and security groups
- 3+ years designing scalable infrastructure and automated cloud deployment using Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar tools
- Experience with AWS Solutions Architect and AWS SysOps certifications preferred
- Kubernetes Administrator certification experience preferred
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other shell scripting languages
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including Cassandra, MariaDB, InfluxDB, and EnterpriseDB
- Experience with IaC tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible
- Experience with Agile, SCRUM, or Kanban software development processes
