About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate and sustain digital/computer-based systems, associated networks, digital and analog audio/interphone, and recorder systems
- Collaborate with systems, hardware, and software engineers to verify interface compatibility and system performance against mission requirements
- Repair coax, ethernet, and multi-pin cables and connections
- Use electronic schematic diagrams to troubleshoot and repair digital and analog circuits
- Operate LOS and SATCOM radios in voice, text, and data modes
- Configure, load, operate, and maintain various crypto devices
- Perform configuration, setup, and usage of Data Transfer Devices
- Operate and sustain various datalinks and broadband communications
- Troubleshoot and repair HF, VHF, and UHF receiver/transmitter systems
- Manage system records and coordinate with maintenance supply organizations for requisition, documentation, and turn-in of parts
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) years of experience operating and sustaining computer systems, communications, and datalinks
- Graduate Degree with zero (0) to two (2) years of experience operating and sustaining computer systems, communications, and datalinks
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of six (6) years of experience operating and sustaining computer systems, communications, and datalinks
- Minimum 2 years’ experience maintaining RC-135 mission systems or similar systems within the last 6 years
- Must have an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI within the first year
- Active Top-Secret Clearance preferred
- Familiarity with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and other advanced test equipment preferred
- Broadband and voice communications experience preferred
- Qualified to maintain RC-135 mission systems within the last 2 years preferred
- CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred
- Ability to build, repair, re-pin, and test various cable types preferred
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues across hardware and software boundaries preferred
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work variable shifts depending upon mission requirements
- Must be worldwide deployable and able to travel up to 40% of the time
- Ability to climb ladders daily and lift up to 50 lbs., 5% of the time
- Ability to work occasionally in very close quarters during system installation or integration testing
