About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and own the design of circuit card assemblies
  • Design digital, analog, and power circuits
  • Support products from concept through on-orbit operations across multiple domains
  • Introduce new technologies for ground- and space-based applications
  • Perform circuit analysis for Beginning-of-Life and End-of-Life applications
  • Perform schematic capture
  • Evaluate EMI, signal integrity, and IR-drop impacts on signals
  • Provide input to and maintain circuit card specifications and requirements
  • Evaluate and select materials and components for the design environment
  • Review drawings and provide feedback
  • Lead small teams through the product life cycle
  • Participate in and contribute to technical reviews
  • Mentor early-career engineers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; or Graduate Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance
  • Experience designing in a space environment preferred
  • Current security clearance or ability to obtain one preferred
  • Experience with schematic entry, simulation, and analysis of power, analog, and digital circuits
  • Experience in precision analog design, power supply design, stability analysis, noise analysis, FPGA interfaces, or signal integrity
  • Experience performing worst-case analysis on analog, digital, and power circuits
  • Experience writing performance specifications
  • Experience with SPICE, MathCAD, Matlab, Simulink, Allegro, Xpedition, and MentorGraphics tools
  • Experience leading teams and project designs
  • Trade study execution and ownership
  • Problem-solving skills to identify alternate solutions to difficult technical challenges
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical skills, including ability to read schematics and understand their function
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to provide mentorship to early-career engineers
